2013 Mazda 3 Trunk Leak
So i recently had my trunk replaced because of some damage and apparently they did not seal it correctly because water is leaking into the trunk and creating mold. Decided to check on my spare tire and found that water had accumulated in the wheel well.

To prep for sealing i thoroughly dried everything with a rag then hit it all with a heat gun to evaporate any water that might be between the panels then wiped it all down with acetone to remove. I purchased some silicone sealant that i am going to apply to. I pulled all the interior panels out of the trunk pulled the tail lights and sealed up every body panel seam with 100 clear silicone. This is my wifes car that we bought brand new in 2014 so we know.

Had the same issue with water leaking into the spare tire compartment. I found leaks between body panel seams near the tail lights. I was cleaning my car the other day and found quite a bit of water in the boot where the spare tyre is.
There was about a good 2 inches of water.
