Light has not come back on. All was ok until today after very short journey glow plug light came on while driving. Hi driving along doing about 75 80 in cruise control and suddenly the car loses power the glow plug light flashes.
The engine is still running very smooth and i havnt really noticed any reduction in power. If the indicator lamp fails to light up when the ignition is switched on this can mean that the glow plug system is defective. Engine management light epc this light could be either a glow plug warning light diesels only or part of the engine management.

Make sure that the engine speed does not exceed the speed displayed in the driver information system for example when shifting down a gear. You can probably drive safely with the glow plug light on as long as you take it easy. So i booked into the audi garage and when i got it back they told me the glow plug system was fine but the indicator was in fact for faulty brake lights and that they were constantly on and that my brake light switch was faulty.
The engine should be serviced without delay.
